If Your Joke Is Good I Will Steal It

These are the inner workings of my selfish and dramatic mind. Hopefully you can learn from me.

Sending Up A Prayer

Thanks to all of you who have been praying for my sweet friend, Leddy, and his family. To those of you who aren't already aware...his father died tragically in a car wreck yesterday. He lost his mother only a year ago to cancer.

Not too much else to say here other than please continue praying!

Thanks & Much Love. Especially to one of the greatest supports in my life. You know who you are. Oh and Logan. Just because I can't write an entire post without saying her name.

Racist or Eye Opening?

I found this website from a friend I would consider quite "PC". Check it out. Please let me know what you think...I was a little conflicted. Sometimes I laughed and sometimes I was shocked. And I think that's the point. So take a few minutes, and check out all the pages on the site so you can get a full grasp before commenting. I'm intrigued to know what you think...

The Day Before Valentine's Day

For the past 23 years, this has been a pretty special day. It's Matt Luevano's birthday! I just had to give a special shout-out to someone who is loved and missed daily. I wish you were here to share a beer with me, buddy. Much love always.

White Trash Weekend was a HUGE success. I must say...I haven't had that much fun in a while. The Senior Citizen's Dance we crashed was a BLAST. Seriously. I two-stepped with some great older men. They know how to get down! We went and danced more after that at a country bar called "Cutters"...and I swear I thought we were actually GOING to get cut! It was a rough crowd, but we managed to have a good time nonetheless. I think the solo-artist dancing of Alexis to Michael Jackson was the highlight. The scavenger hunt was DEFINITELY hilarious. The proof is in the pictures.

All I can say is...I love my friends and I love my time off.

Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Happy Valentine's to those who are in love! And to all the single people...don't be depressed. It's so annoying. Let's celebrate in style by not crying, whining, or complaining that we're not with someone. And if you're tempted to do any of the above, feel free to give me a call. I'll give you a verbal ass-whooping for not enjoying your singleness.

White Trash Weekend

I am aware that there are ACTUAL events called "White Trash Weekend". Yet this weekend, we are having our very own White Trash Weekend...all of our own making! My friend Candice turns 25 this month (WOW!) and we're celebrating this weekend. She is not aware of what we're doing or where we're going...she just knows what she needs to bring. A few things included in this weekend are:

*A Senior Citizens Dance
*White Trash clothing, including: camo hats, Texas Motor Speedway hats, matching traveling outfits with wife beaters, unshaven facial hair (not mine!), and the possibility of blacking out a few teeth (just to be cool)
*A White Trash Scavenger Hunt: people drinking 40's of Schlitz, mullets, a woman in her robe...things of that nature
*Going to a seriously country dance hall/bar

It should be a fantastic time. If any of you have ideas of things we should do or add to the scavenger hunt...please feel free to post them! I'd love for you to share in the festivities via blogland. And of COURSE...I'll post about it next week. I'm sure there will be much to share.

Inevitably, this means I will not make it to the MOL Nation Party. I suck, I know. But Candice only turns 25 once, and this was the only weekend we could all do it. I love you guys, and I'll be there in spirit.

Peace, Love & White Trash Weekend

Highlights

Now THAT was a good magazine.

Quickhits from the weekend:

1. Mary Kay parties are better with Mimosa's and Annie. Both make an afternoon great.

2. Apparently I follow people too slowly/not closely enough. I'm committing to the world that I will attempt to get better at it. Although most of the time I'm IN my own world...therefore making me feel like I'm just as fast as everyone else. Maybe other people should come live in my world...

3. Two of my friends successfully made it through a difficult day on Saturday. The anniversaries of their mom's deaths were celebrated with good friends and good liquor. I think we all came out the other side okay.

4. I celebrated waking up on Sunday by eating at Raymond's Barbecue in Decatur. Not only had I not showered, I reaked of smoke and looked hungover/had a tiny cut on my eye (remote control...long story). I timed it perfectly so that I could see everyone I should have been in church with that morning. Oops. I'm sure word will get around that I'm on crack.

That's all I got. Oh yeah: 5. I didn't watch the SuperBowl. But I did watch Grey's Anatomy.

Peace out, biznatches.

Why Do I Do This To Myself?

It's an addiction, really. A problem. An idiotic thing to do. But I can't help myself.

I sign up for almost anything that's free online. I have signed up to learn French online. I have signed up for an online book club that sends you excerpts of books to your email. I have concert venues that email me with upcoming shows. And the list goes on and on and on. My email account is FLOODED with random, stupid things that I have signed up for, thinking that, "Yes! I will learn French online!" Who does that? Who learns French ONLINE? Seriously. If you've done it, let me know. Because it's all a bunch of nonsense to me.

The point of this is...there is no point. I will sign up for anything that's free. And I haven't even MENTIONED Xanga, MySpace, Blogspot, or Buddytown yet...

I have a problem. Someone please help me. Or send me a link to a place where I can get free emails about "Quitting in 5 Easy Steps". Thanks.

I Encourage...No, No...BEG You

to go see Brokeback Mountain. If you haven't seen it...go see it. A great review of this was done by Genslay (www.genslay.blogspot.com) so I will not attempt to do my own. All I can say is, go see it. And if you're uncomfortable with the premise, you might want to see it anyway. It's not an entirely sexual movie, and it's a sldkjfoiwuer* love story.

*the reason for this non-word is because I couldn't think of a great enough word to put before love story. Yep. I invented a new word as a result of Brokeback Mountain. It MUST be a great movie.

(oh and Heath & Jake are still hot.)
